motion designer
A Motion Designer at Gen, is responsible for both fully animated pieces and motion contributions to multi-disciplinary productions, from concept, drafts, storyboards, style-frames, to asset creation and animation. They are part of a team with complementary skills trying to build something great together.
they spend their time:
Learning from a diverse environment operating in multiple disciplines of Design;
Brainstorming and developing ideas with a Motion & Film focused team;
Creating concepts that exceed the clients’ needs, abiding by the brief while advancing motion graphics techniques;
Storyboard and style-framing ideas that balance innovation with brief accuracy;
Being part of the production process or develop full pieces, depending on the scope and availability, under creative direction;
Taking advantage of a small studio space for exploration and execution of ideas involving photography and film;
Growing into directing projects in their entirety, given the skillset is presented.
they may also be asked to:
Help the Digital team with UI/UX moving prototypes.
they are/have:
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of motion work experience;
Illustration skills;
Basic stylized 3D modeling and animation skills;
Team players capable of solving short-term problems with an eye on long term goals;
A verifiable portfolio of great work that shows technical capacity and understanding of Motion Design;
Capable of designing and animating graphical compositions with typography, illustration and mixed media;
Solid understanding of design principles and communication through motion;
Capable of playing with rhythm and timing to tell and punctuate a story;
A sense of responsibility and ownership of their work;
Good written and verbal communication skills (English).

Capacity to present and defend creative choices to clients;
