A designer at Gen appreciates the challenges of taking a project from start to end as well dealing with the intricacies and constraints of large and small-scale projects. You’ll work to make purposeful communication for our clients by bringing familiar surprises to their customers.
You'll get to:
Create brand identities from scratch;
Bring brand strategy to life as brand expression for our global clients;
Deliver brand expression development and asset creation for delivery;
Interpret information to find well-reasoned solutions;
Brainstorming initial ideas and carry them through to concept development - ultimately taking the expression through to final implementation;
Work on layouts and artworking pages ready for print;
Present finalised ideas and concepts to clients or project managers;
Create design solutions (print and digital), pieces that have a high visual impact for a wide variety of clients;
Develop creative ideas and concepts, choosing the appropriate media and style to meet the client’s objectives;
Have superb eye for detail, from pixels to print, colors to typography.
You may also be asked to:
Create and curate images for website graphics;
Help to conceptualise, design and produce marketing collateral, including special reports, case studies, brand books etc.
We’re looking for someone who has/is:
Bachelor’s degree in design;
Minimum 2 to 3 years of design work experience;
Great design skills and unconventional ideas;
Multidisciplinary designer at heart, working with a wide range of media;
Strong composition and typography skills;
Good written and verbal communication skills (English).
and may also present:
Talent for data visualization and infographics;
Illustrative skills with rough sketches;
Interest in branding strategy;
Can mockup and prototype work – digitally and physically;
Deeply committed to making sure the work we produce is useable, intuitive and intelligent;
Maintains design consistency and coherence across the project – exceptions should have a strong argument;
Must work to see the big picture, not just what’s currently in front of them;
Understanding not only how, but also why (the motivation behind assumptions);
High standards of craftsmanship;
Good knowledge of all programs (software) necessary to deliver creative work;
Constantly challenging themselves and learning;
Must be focused and ambitious, striving to grow;
Must be assertive (have a strong opinion and voice);
Explorer mindset: question, make mistakes and learn.
